Alok Kumar began writing when there was plenty to say and nobody to say it to. Whatever never made it past his tongue found its way onto paper. "Shabdon Ke Sheher Se" is his own city. Every shayari and every poem here is written by him, not collected from elsewhere. He writes in both Hindi and English, because some feelings refuse to fit inside one language. He believes a few honest words at the right moment can do more than a long conversation. That is what this whole sheher is built on.
