What Should You Send Someone You Have Just Started Liking?

You type it, you look at it, you delete it. Here is what to actually send someone you have just started liking, and the three shayari worth sending.

You have typed it once. Then you read it back, felt stupid, and deleted the whole thing. Ten minutes later you typed it again, changed two words, and deleted it again. Screen off, screen on, nothing sent.

Almost everyone has spent a night like that. And the words are never really the problem.

So people search for a first message shayari instead. Something that carries the feeling without turning into a whole confession. That instinct is right, but only if you use it the right way, and most people do not.

Why the first message feels this hard

Before we get to which shayari for crush actually works, understand what you are up against. You are not scared of them. You are scared of what comes after. One blue tick, no reply for two hours, and then everything between you turns careful. A friendship you actually enjoy becomes something you have to manage.

There is a second thing nobody admits. As long as you have not said it, you still get to imagine that they feel the same. That imagined version is comfortable. The moment you speak, it becomes a real answer, and real answers can be no. So your silence is not protecting them. It is protecting your version of the story.

Which is fine for a week. It stops being fine after six months.

The other thing worth knowing is that they are probably reading you the same way. Someone who talks to you every day usually has a rough idea. They are just waiting for one of you to go first, and both of you have decided it should be the other person. That is how two people who like each other spend a year saying nothing.

Shayari One

Send this one when you keep postponing. It works because it does not sound romantic, it sounds like a push. If the person already senses something and you both keep circling around it, this breaks the circle without you having to make a speech.

It also does something clever. It talks about fear instead of feelings, so it is easier to send and easier to receive. Nobody has to reply with a yes or a no. They can simply answer the question it is really asking, which is why are we both pretending.

Send the plain line first, the shayari after

This is where most people go wrong. They send four beautiful lines and nothing else, then wait. The other person reads it, likes it, replies with a heart, and nothing changes. Because a shayari on its own is very easy to treat as a nice forward.

So flip the order. Say the plain sentence first, in your own ordinary words. Five words, no decoration, no build-up. Then send the shayari, because that is the part carrying everything those five words could not hold.

This is also the difference between a subtle romantic shayari and a dramatic one. Subtle works here. You want something they can read twice and smile at, not something that puts them on the spot in front of a screen.

The plain line makes it real. The shayari makes it yours.

And keep the plain line short. People try to explain themselves here, and the explaining is what makes it awkward. You do not owe them a paragraph on when it started or why you waited. That conversation can happen later, once they know at all.

When you have told everyone except your crush

This one is very common and slightly ridiculous once you say it out loud. Your best friend knows. Your cousin knows. The group chat has been hearing about this person for months. The only person who does not know is your crush.

Talking about someone is easy. Talking to them is not. And the longer that gap stays open, the heavier it gets, because now you are not saying one thing. You are also explaining months of silence.

If you are in this spot, do not open with how long you have felt this way. That turns a message into a confession they have to respond to properly, and most people freeze under that weight. Say the small version. The long version keeps.

Same rule applies right after a पहली मुलाक़ात. Pehli mulaqat shayari works when it stays light. One good line the same evening does more than a long message three days later.

Shayari Two

Send this one when you are ready to be honest but not ready to be heavy. Look at what it avoids. It does not beg, it does not demand, and it does not ask them to decide anything today. It puts the truth on the table and leaves the next move to them. That is usually the only version people can actually receive early on.

When you want to say more than you probably should this early

Sometimes it is not about a message at all. You are not looking for a reply. You want the evening, the long walk, sitting next to each other without either of you checking the time.

That is a much bigger thing to admit, and it is honestly risky this early. But some people would rather say the whole thing once than say a safe version ten times. At some point you decide whether that matters more than the person does.

Shayari Three

Send this one only if you already talk daily. On a two week old conversation it will land too fast and scare them off. On something that has been quietly building for a while, it says the thing both of you have been avoiding.

What not to send

A few things fail almost every time, and they are worth naming before you send anything.

Do not send five shayari in a row. One is a feeling. Five is a broadcast. The moment it looks like a forward, it stops being about them.

Do not send anything you found on a status app. Most crush shayari in Hindi floating around WhatsApp has been forwarded ten thousand times, and there is a decent chance they have already seen it. Something they have not read before will always land better.

Do not send it at two in the morning. Late at night everything feels more intense than it is, and whatever you write at that hour reads heavier than you meant. Write it, save it in your notes, and read it again the next evening. If it still feels true, send it then. Sometimes it does not, and that tells you something useful too.

Do not follow it with a joke. People do this to soften the risk, and it cancels the whole message. If you said something real and then wrote "haha ignore it", they will ignore it.

Do not ask what they thought of it. Give them a day. Someone taking time to reply is usually someone thinking, not someone rejecting you.

Do not send a shayari you did not understand. This sounds obvious and yet it happens constantly. If they ask what a word means and you have no idea, the whole thing collapses. Read it twice before you send it. If any line does not sit right with you, pick a different one.

So which shayari do you actually pick

Match it to where you honestly are, not where you wish you were. This is the part people get wrong, because it is tempting to send the boldest one and hope it works. It usually does not, for the simple reason that the other person is still at an earlier stage than you are.

If you keep stalling and cannot get yourself to start, shayari one. If you are ready to say it but want to keep it light, shayari two, and this is the safest first message shayari of the three. If you already speak every day and you want to say the bigger thing, shayari three.

And if what you really wanted was a cute shayari to send your crush without being obvious, shayari two is your answer. Shy love lines work better than bold ones at this stage, because they leave the other person room to respond however they want. Nobody feels cornered, and that is exactly why they reply.

Then send it plainly. No long explanation before, no nervous laugh after. Put the phone down after that and let them read it in their own time.

If the answer turns out to be no, it will hurt for a while and then it will stop. That is genuinely how it works, even though nobody believes it while they are in it. What does not stop is the other one, the version where you never asked. That one sits quietly for years and shows up every time a particular song plays.

If English suits you better for this kind of thing, there is a poetry section here as well. And if you would rather just read for a while without sending anything to anyone, start here.
